1. Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The adventure of Dai
Probably the most highly anticipated sequel around, Squidness has finally released a trailer for the action RPG sequel, Infinitis Trash Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai. The game is releasing worldwide on September 28th for consoles. Unifinity Strash is based on the anime and manga series of the same name allowing you to play through the show itself as the character. The price of the game will be $60.
2. Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster
Coming up right after that is a remastered version of Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. Technically, it’s more of a remodel in HD, but it brings back a couple of JRPG nostalgia games from 20 years ago. In this new release, Baten offers improved graphics and introduces new features to enhance the game’s progression, such as a new save system. This package will be available for the Nintendo Switch and other consoles around summer.
3. Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless
NIS America revealed another trailer for Disgaea 7 and finally provided a release date of October 3rd for the game. Disgaea 7 will be available on PCs, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation consoles. It consists of strategy or turn-based RPGs that have been around for 20 years since the release of the original game. TThe story and pace are incredibly addictive. You’ll likely find yourself sticking around for multiple playthroughs.
4. Crymachina
On the other hand, Crymachina is an action RPG set in a futuristic version of an alternate Earth. In this post-apocalyptic era, these mechanical beings, specifically girls, have managed to survive and become real humans. Why only girls? I’m not sure, maybe if you play as the goddess of Nikki, you’ll find out. Anyway, take a look at Crymachina. It scheduled for release in the final quarter of 2023 on the Nintendo Switch and other consoles as well.
5. Ys X: Nordics
Ys X: Nordics will launch for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation consoles on September 28th this year. However, this release is currently confirmed for Japan only. We are still waiting for a release date announcement from the developers for the Western or global regions. Neon Falcon, the company behind the game, recently released a new trailer. It reveals that the game will have only two playable characters, with a heavier focus on Stone.
6. Haruka: Beyond the Stars
At number six, we have Haruka Beyond the Stars. This is a completely new IP developed by the same creators of Giraffe and Anika. In this game, you play as a girl on a spaceship, exploring space and searching for new meaning after mankind has lost. Haruka: Beyond the stars is scheduled to release on all consoles, including the Nintendo Switch, in 2025.
7. Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection
Just over a month ago, Atlus revealed a gameplay trailer for Etrian Odyssey: The Origins Collection, a series of dungeon crawling RPG pixel art games. They the game will be released on PCs and the Nintendo Switch on June 1st. The trailer primarily showcases partial customization changes, a new map, combat, and improved graphics, which you’ll likely notice.
8. The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie
NIS America has finally shared a release date of July 7th for Trails into Reverie. The company released a new trailer for The Legend of Heroes: Trails, introducing almost all the characters. In case you are new to the series, this is a Japanese original RPG that was initially released in 2020. It follows a story that spans Trails from Zero, Trails to Azure, and the Boundless Trails.
9. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred heroes
One of the most anticipated pixel art-style, turn-based tactics, semi-open world RPGs in the making: Eiyuden Chronicles: 100 Heroes. A new trailer was released a few months ago, reaffirming that the game has achieved all of its Kickstarter goals and is in excellent shape.
10. My Time at Sandrock
Another new trailer for My Time at Sandrock announced that the sequel to the beloved life simulation RPG, My Time at Portia, will finally be coming to the Nintendo Switch this summer. In case you didn’t know, ‘My Time at Sandrock’ has been in development for over three years and initially gained support through a successful Kickstarter campaign. It is now recognized as one of the most funded projects on the website.
11. Lopp 8: Summer of Gods
Marvelous has finally released another trailer for Loop 8: Summer of Gods. I may have mentioned this game multiple times before, but this new trailer offers about six minutes of story and gameplay, showcasing some previously unseen content. The game is set to released on June 1st for consoles, PCs, and the Nintendo Switch. Loop 8 is an anime RPG adventure set in rural 80s Japan, where every decision you make will shape the story. Technically, it is a story-heavy game that is driven by player choices.
12. Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg
Returning after more than 25 years since its original release, we have the remake of Atelier Marie. This turn-based RPG remake will be releasing on July 13th.
13. Sea of Stars
On the other hand, Sea of Stars, the second most highly anticipated pixel art game. In terms of hype set to release on August 29th. The game has recently released more in-game footage, regularly showcasing its mechanics and environments. Sea of Stars has been announced that the game will be available on PCs and consoles, and the Nintendo Switch. Sea of Stars is a turn-based, story-heavy RPG with a soundtrack composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. It’s worth noting that Yasunori Mitsuda is the same incredible composer who worked on the original Chrono Trigger and various Xenoblade games, among others.
14. Noob: The Factionless
Once again, we have the Faction List. This game will finally be leaving early access and will have a simultaneous release on all consoles on June 29th. Noob The Factionless is a turn-based RPG that follows the adventures of four characters. The console release is scheduled for June 29th.
15. Decarnation
Last we have Decarnation, which was released on Steam as a demo just a month ago. Decarnation game is a unique blend of story-driven adventure, horror, puzzle, and action genres. It combines traditional survival horror elements with a wide variety of symbolic minigames, all based on real events in Paris. Make sure to check it out! Decarnation is set to released on May 31st. And it will be available on the Nintendo Switch and other consoles as well.
