Top 15 Upcoming Post-Apocalyptic Survival Games
1. Pine Harbor
Heavily inspired by the Silent Hills, a bite in first-person perspective number one, we have a game called Pine Harbor, which I would say if you remember the Unreal Engine project we came across a few years ago, a game named Ill, you’ll probably know what you’re looking at over here because it’s almost the same in just a different world, Another difference, though, is that Pine Harbor places an even heavier emphasis on horror than action or shooting. This game will indeed release in the final quarter of 2023 for PCs only.

2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
Coming up behind that, we have a heart of Chernobyl. Now, stalker 2 has been one of the oldest reveals in the gaming world and is actually one of the top three most anticipated survival open world games. You can actually say it’s the number one game in the making. We’ve heard this game’s releasing either at its earliest by the end of the year, if not early next year. If you’re new here, stalker is a stealth open world survival shooter and technically the most realistic game in its own genre.
3. Metaphor: Refantazio
Metaphor Refantazio is now officially coming to PCS in addition to the next generation of consoles and the PlayStation 4. The announcement was made recently through a trailer with a release window of 2024. In addition, if you are new here to the metaphor game, it is a fantasy RPG that’s actually being directed by the same team who did most Persona games, that is, Persona 3, 4, and even 5. Metaphor: refantazio is actually the sequel to a very well-received game from almost a decade ago.
4. ARC Raiders
Number 4 with a new trailer over here, finally we have our creators coming from the same team of veterans in charge of two more upcoming Shooters of all Triple A games, such as the final or creators, but among the bunch is an extraction style shooter originally announced as a co-op PVE that’s being built with the use of Unreal Engine 5. ARC Raiders isn’t in a beta phase right now for PCs, and it’s going to be coming to the next generation of consoles as well later in 2023.
5. Macabre
a couple months ago at the PC gaming show now this may be the second time we’re mentioning it over here we came across a new IP called Macabre this is a Co-op multiplayer stealth extraction border game in which you have the option to travel between infinite timelines now the trailer here to be honest is really good I was just watching a whole thing but that’s your choice the game itself all you know is it is coming to PCS only sometime possibly 2023.
6. Road to Vostok
Number six, we have the work of a single-handed developer from earlier this year, may another open-world survival game in the same style of stalker going by the name Road to Vostok, a game that’s aiming to deliver the best hardcore survival game on the platform. Well, the progression is actually tied more towards the game world, and there are permanent survival elements like in games such as DayZ. Road to Vostok is a PC exclusive, and it has been in development for over two years.
7. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Bad news out first I would say, if you haven’t heard, that the most anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusive, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, will now not be coming to the PlayStation 4. I mean, Screen confirmed it a week ago, and the reason being that the past generations and it’s just going to cut it graphically, the trailer right over here pretty much just showcases the reasons the old consoles can’t. Final fantasy 7 is honestly probably the most mind-blowing trailer I’ve seen in a while, game will be coming to PCS alongside the PlayStation 5 in the first quarter of 2024.
8. Pioner
If you miss it in 2020, at a pretty random gaming showcase we came across a stalker-inspired first-person shooter coming from an in-house developer called Pioneer. A cinematic and a rather short Gameplay trailer later on mixed with a cinematic were released, and it’s been a while since we got an update, but that’s the thing, a month ago we finally got that the game is coming to PC eventually early to mid-next year, not just that some legit gameplay showcase and that it’s actually a MMORPG.
9. Nobody’s Left
Coming up behind that, we have a game called Nobody’s Left. This is a third-person action survival game, maybe in the same vein as Play Games or even Vision, because we also know that it’s coming over to PCS with a Steam page in the works, possibly for the consoles later on down the line. Nobody’s Left was announced last year, and we’re still trying to figure out where these games even came from or how far they are into development.
10. Terminator Survival Project
Currently in development under the working title Terminator Survival Project Number 10, which we have from a few months ago through its reveal on ign, the open-world survival game in the long-running franchise that is being developed by the Korean developers Nikon. Honestly, that’s just pretty much all this; nothing else is for some gameplay footage or precise anything; we’ve got nothing except the game, which is a PC Next Generation console exclusive, and we’re still waiting on an update on that.
11. Rooted
At number 12, we have Rooted, which was mentioned a week ago. This is a survival game almost cloned off of The Last of Us games. For details, the game is just set in a post-apocalyptic time near 2100, where you’re one of the few survivors left to progress and adapt to the new world. Rooted is still in its very early stages of development, game is said to be coming out in about a year from now on PC only.
12. Sand
Coming from the same developers of the famous secret neighbour from a couple weeks ago, we caught eyes on a new game over here called Sand, a multiplayer sandbox shooter set in a steampunk post-apocalyptic open world Russia where a team of just Smugglers fights for survival in a very vast desert. Nothing much really, just a cinematic, the game is coming to Pieces only later in 2023.
13. Outbreak Island
At Number 13, We have outbreak Island. This is from the same Publishers as Breath Age and Void Train, which, if you missed their new game over here, is the first-person detective-inspired survival game where we are supposed to investigate an island and stay alive at any cost using just the camera, like in Outcast, not to mention the stories about some sort of experiment due to which the people in Ireland have been disappearing and coming back mutated.
14. Exekiller
We finally have some news on Exekiller, a first-person western-themed but retro-futuristic post-apocalyptic first-person shooter and a single-player game that has hints of the game Wild West released recently but not in third-person or with a lot of action, but like this, here’s the trailer that I came across a few days ago in the world that again will be coming out in 2025.
15. FrostPunk 2
And last but not least, we have Frostpunk 2, which actually came out earlier 2023 with the update that the game is now in pretty good shape and remains a PC exclusive. If you’re new frostpunk 2 is a sequel to the city buildings of the Bible strategy game that started life almost five years ago. This sequel has been in the making for over two years now and is said to be coming out technically on PCs only.
