Fortnite is technically a battle royale game where players fight inside a shrinking circle until only one is left. But it’s really more famous for its pop culture crossovers. Just in 2024, we’ve seen Lady Gaga, the Cybertruck, Kamala Harris, Skibidi Toilet, and, in case you forgot the time of year, Mariah Carey. There’s no real pattern to it that I can figure out, other than “the kids like this, right?” (and, of course, money). So, while it’s not exactly shocking, I’m also not too surprised that dead rocker-turned-terrorist Johnny Silverhand will soon be jumping in.

Epic teased, “We’re expecting some guests from Night City,” and while there are no more details yet, it definitely looks like both Johnny and V will be joining the action.
As Eurogamer pointed out, this will be Keanu Reeves’ second appearance in Fortnite, having previously shown up a few years ago as dog-loving assassin John Wick. While Wick is known for more than just his love for dogs, it’s pretty funny that despite how different these characters are—Wick being a focused, determined assassin, and Silverhand being a washed-up musician—it’s actually Johnny who has the bigger body count. As you might recall, Silverhand set off a suitcase nuke in Arasaka Towers back in 2023, killing over 12,000 people instantly and causing another 750,000 deaths in the months that followed.
I’m guessing they won’t bring that up in Fortnite, but it’d be pretty hilarious if the season ended with Johnny blowing up Seaport City. That’s probably not going to happen, but a guy can dream.
On the other hand, Fortnite leaker HypeX shared some images of Cyberpunk 2077 cosmetics coming to the game, including what looks like a nuclear warhead stuffed inside a gym bag. Take that as you will. Epic hasn’t confirmed when Johnny and V will appear in Fortnite, but I’m betting it’ll be soon.
