1. A.I.L.A

Coming from the same people who brought us ‘phobia with an F,’ the PC exclusive horror game from June last year, we have Pulsy Tricks, these developers who are now working on another survival horror game. Developers using Unreal Engine 5 to create more atmospheric than a survival horror or puzzle game. It goes by the name ‘Project A.I.L.A.’ Here’s the first official trailer showcasing what they have come up with. A.I.L.A. is set to release for PCs and probably next-generation consoles as well, next year.

2. Level Zero

Coming out after its announcement on Twitter from November last year, we have Level Zero. It is a symmetrical survival horror PVP game where a team of scientists must prepare the spaceship’s electrical system, known as the ‘meth’ function, after a long journey of about 20 years into the future. However, they soon discover that this malfunction is more than just a systematic error. Take a look at this game. Level Zero coming to PCs and both generations of consoles by the end of the year.

3. Exp: War Trauma

Sitting on Steam with a demo for over two years now, we have XP, or Experience War Trauma. Exp: War Trauma is single-handedly best atmospheric horror game that I’ve personally ever played in my life. It features such eerie horror and traumatic experiences that you will probably never forget. I haven’t forgotten it ever since I played it last year. The problem with XP Wardrobe here is that the game is still awaiting a release window. Personally, I’ve been anticipating the Exp: War Trauma for over two years, but it will be released by the end of the year.

4. Paranormal Tales

A couple of weeks ago, Digital Cyber Cherries released the official gameplay trailer for Paranormal Tales. It showcased what could possibly be the best thing we’ve seen in horror gaming for months. The game utilizes Unreal Engine 5 and is also coming to portable devices. For those of you who are new here, ‘Paranormal Tales’ is a PC-exclusive, next-generation game inspired by PT. It is a technically a body cam-style horror game with a found footage vibe, giving you the feeling of playing through a VHS movie. The game is set to release exclusively on PCs around October this year.

5. Silent Hill 2 Remake

On the other hand, we have Konami and the Blooper Team, who have once again geared up to bring another Silent Hill 2 in the form of a remake. Silent Hill 2 Remake has already been in development for over 3 years. Silent Hill 2 is probably Konami’s biggest project as of last year. Silent Hill 2 Remake game is not only being remade from the ground up, just like the Resident Evil 4 remake, but it will also undergo a complete redesign of the stages, story, and characters themselves.

6. Layers of Fear

The Blober Team has gone ahead and released another new trailer, along with a long-awaited release date of June 15, 2023, for Layers of Fear. Technically, it encompasses both Layers of Fear 1 and 2 in the form of a remake. Formerly known as ‘Layers of Fears,’ this series of Welsh horror adventure games originated in 2020 and is being developed using Unreal Engine 5. Layers of Fear come to PCs and the next generation of consoles.

7. Stray Souls

“Been in the making for over a year now, finally, ‘Resurfers’ emerged about two weeks ago, in case you’ve missed it. At number seven, we have ‘Stray Souls: Threshold,’ a story-heavy psychological survival horror game. It was announced for both PCs and the next generation of consoles and is being developed using Unreal Engine 5. Stray Souls is set to be released in a year, with an estimated timeframe of the final quarter of 2024. It is said to combine Japanese survival horror elements with a Western Paranormal Activity style, along with some intricate and challenging puzzles.

8. Pine Harbor

Inspired by the Silent Hills series, ‘Abides’ is a first-person game that you might already be familiar with. It is another Unreal Engine project that we have been eagerly waiting for some substantial news for years. Now, we have Pine Harbor, which is precisely in the same style. It is also made with Unreal Engine 5, with an even heavier emphasis on horror rather than just action and shooting. Take a look at this game. Pine Harbour will be released around the holidays this year.

9. Fort Solis

At number nine, we have Fort Solis, one of the most anticipated horror games on the horizon. Finally, it is coming to PCs and exclusively to PlayStation 5 in the fall of 2023. The announcement comes with exciting news, including a new gameplay trailer that showcases the game’s engine, psychological horror aspects, and the promised space horror elements. ‘Fort Solis’ is a single-player, third-person thriller, not entirely a horror game, set on the far side of Mars, a location that has never been explored even slightly before.

10. The Shivers

Sitting on a Kickstarter campaign for almost two years now, at number 10, we have a game called The Shivers. This is the first time it’s getting a mention in our video. The game managed to secure funding that was 12 times its initial goal during the campaign. It successfully reached all of its stretch goals. We’ve heard that The Shivers will be releasing exclusively for PCs by the end of the year. ‘Shivers’ is a mystery-themed survival horror game where you and four other players explore a spooky mansion, uncovering its story. It’s similar vibe to the Luigi’s Mansion games, but with its own unique elements.

11. Ad Infinitum

Ad Infinitum is longest-awaited first-person survival horror games in development, with a strong focus on atmosphere and storytelling. It revolves around the post-traumatic events of a German World War soldier. Ad Infinitum is finally coming to PCs and both generations of consoles in September 2023.

12. Wronged US

At number 12, we have a game called Wronged US, which is one of the oldest, I mean, long-awaited announcements. As I mentioned before, it is a Silent Hill-inspired project being developed using Unreal Engine 5. Wronged US is a semi-open world game with a strong emphasis on exploration. The setting of ‘Rundas’ is considered one of the best for a dark story, somewhere between Silent Hill and the atmosphere of Dark Souls. Wronged US is coming to the next generation of consoles, in addition to PCs, in the final quarter of 2024.

13. Luto

Luto is a first-person psychological narrative-based horror game. It revolves around a man who is trapped in his own house due to various psychological reasons or aspects that he must confront. Being a psychological horror game, the focus primarily lies on solving puzzles rather than dealing with physical threats. Luto is set to release for PCs and PlayStation consoles later this year.
