The Nintendo Switch 2 will support USB mouse input for at least one game, as revealed in a developer demo for Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening Complete Edition. Koei Tecmo’s producer Michi Ryu plugged in a standard USB mouse during gameplay, and the console immediately recognized it—allowing seamless switching between the mouse and a Joy-Con 2 controller.
While the original Switch had limited mouse and keyboard support (used in games like Turok), Nintendo appears to be expanding compatibility this time. A recent video on the Nintendo Today app also showed Joy-Con 2’s “mouse mode” working in the system menu, suggesting broader pointer-based navigation.
However, it’s unclear if USB mice will work universally in all mouse-supported games. Nintendo has not yet confirmed whether this feature extends beyond Nobunaga’s Ambition.
