I have reviewed, compact-sized gaming keyboards like AJAZZ AK680 MAX and Epomaker HE68. These are small and compact and provide an amazing gaming experience, but this time I have something way smaller than compact from MechLands. The AULA Win60 HE Series gaming keyboard is a 65% layout keyboard with advanced magnetic switches, an 8000 Hz polling rate, and south-facing RGB backlighting. One thing I want to clear up is that this is not a wireless or Bluetooth connection; it’s a weird gaming keyboard that you get at a price of $50.
Unboxing
In the box you get the AULA Win6 HE Series Keyboard itself, a keycap puller, 2 extra magnetic switches, a USB cable for connection, and a wrist strap to carry it easily in your hand while traveling. And the extra thing you get is a user manual and card for the combination keys showing which you need to combine and press to do things like deleting previous and next, and also page down and up, and screenshot and others, as this laptop does not have those short keys.
Design and Build
As far as the design, the layout is 65%, which makes it the smallest gaming keyboard to have a total of 68 keys. The build is ABS plastic but solid. You have three color options: gray and yellow, black and red, and white and blue, which I have for this review.
The White Blue also has some grey keys as well, and this color combination looks great, but I also like Black Red, which is side-printed caps. The size of the keyboard is too compact; it does not have any extra body ratio and does not feature any branding.
On the left side, the top edge features a strap return. The Win6 HE series is also good for carrying on travel by just handling it with your fingers using the good-quality cloth strap.
On the side edge bottom, it does feature the brand logo written as Aula, which is not noticeable because it is too clean. On the back bottom features the AULA logo, and in the center is a sticker with some info. All four corners have sticky rubber grips to not make it slippery on the desk. As for the design and weight, I liked how lightweight this is. Just take it in one hand and not get noticed carrying a gaming keyboard. The 700 grams make it very comfortable to carry and game the way you like while traveling.
Keycaps & Switches
The AULA Win60 HE Series has 68 keys; it lags in providing the short keys like Delete, PGDN, PGUP, PRTSCR, Home, INS, END, and Play/Pause, and to use those keys, you need to learn about the combined keys to work with efficiency and speed. In the box you get an extra card for those combined keys showing what to use for what keys you can see below that I have shared.
Due to the lack of these keys, when I started working with the keyboard, it felt slower and tougher, but once I got all these combination keys on my fingers, I felt like I could work with the keyboard faster. A keyboard that fully fits in your fingers helps you do your work faster and boost the keyboard. You do notice little issues working with it starting out, but once you get those keys, you’re going to love it. I’m loving it now. The $50 keyboard punches way above its weight class from the MechLands. After using it daily for weeks, I’m shocked by how much performance AULA Win60 HE Series packed into such a tiny frame. The 8000Hz polling rate and magnetic switches make games like Valorant or osu! feel razor-sharp, while the hot-swappable PCB lets you tweak the experience endlessly.
Sure, the wired-only design and missing keys (RIP dedicated Delete) take getting used to, but that’s the trade-off for this level of speed at half the price of competitors. Gamers craving a portable, no-nonsense weapon will adore it; productivity users might rage-quit over the combo shortcuts. For the money? It’s a steal just don’t expect wireless freedom or a premium metal body. If you can live with its quirks, the Win60 HE is a borderline cheat code for budget setups and I love it.
