However, in this review, we will focus specifically on the 8K model.
The code name for this TV is QN900C. It holds the distinction of being the most expensive and largest TV in our studio, as well as in any home or location. The prices vary depending on the screen size, with the 65-inch variant starting at $3,195.98 and the 95-inch variant being the most expensive option. Design and Ports
The standout feature of this TV is its panel. Take a look at this remarkable panel! What sets it apart is the absence of bezels. Despite its large size, you won’t see any bezels around the screen. It’s truly amazing! The bottom chin is minimal, and there are no bezels on the other three sides. Not only is this TV big and impressive, but it’s also on the pricier side and quite heavy. With the stand included, it weighs a total of 57KG.
Another notable aspect is the clean setup. There are no visible wires because the TV comes with a slim 1 connect box that houses all the ports. This ensures a clutter-free and streamlined appearance. And the ports are full! You get 4 HDMI ports, all of which are 2.1, 3 USB ports, and the remaining standard ports are in the slim connect box.
Display
The panel is 85 inches in size but features 14-bit processing, surpassing the typical 10-12-bit processing found in other TVs. This results in impressive color reproduction and support for 1 billion colors. The brightness is exceptional, making it the brightest TV I’ve seen, and the dimming zones contribute to deep blacks. Whether it’s colors, brightness, or color saturation, this TV delivers outstanding performance. Just take a look at it and you’ll understand the camera may not do justice to the colors, but they are truly amazing when viewed directly. The refresh rate is 100Hz locally and can reach 120Hz with gaming consoles. For PC gaming connected via HDMI, it can go up to 144Hz. This TV is also notable for being the world’s first Pantone certified TV, offering various color modes and customizable color options. It even includes a film maker mode. The colors on this TV can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
Remote
What’s fascinating about remote is that it can be charged using solar power. If you observe the back, you’ll notice a solar panel. By exposing the remote to sunlight for some time, it can be charged. Additionally, it can also be charged with ambient light when kept indoors. Furthermore, it utilizes RF charging, specifically RF solar power. However, if you prefer fast charging, you can use a USB Type-C cable to charge it.
OS UI
Unlike Android, this TV utilizes the Tizen SmartOS. Naturally, it offers all the essential features you would expect from a smart TV, along with some additional ones. When it comes to OTT platforms, you’ll find a wide range of apps available, including Samsung TV+. Their own app store provides access to all the necessary apps. You can install various applications such as games, sports, lifestyle, and more. In addition to a plethora of third-party apps, the standard apps for OTT platforms are readily available as well.
Features
If I talk about Samsung TV+, you can watch live TV as well. You can actually watch a variety of live TV channels, including music, entertainment, sports, outdoor, kids, movies, and lifestyle channels. These channels are available for streaming through the internet. It uses the internet to display the content, and it also has a feature for connecting other devices. Essentially, it can act as your IoT hub, allowing you to control smart devices like a fridge or lights from the TV’s dashboard. Moreover, the TV integrates with Bixby and Alexa, enabling voice control. There are many interesting features in this smart TV. For example, you can use your phone as a mobile camera or connect a USB camera to use it as a webcam. The TV provides a camera experience where you can use a USB or mobile camera for video calls and online meetings. It’s a smart and intelligent TV that can even send signals to close the curtains when there’s too much sunlight or brightness. In terms of content, although 8K content is limited on platforms like YouTube, the TV has a Neural Quantum Processor 8K engine that processes video and upscales content from 4K to 8K.
Multimedia and Speaker
It’s worth mentioning that the TV supports 8K content, providing a high-resolution viewing experience. Although it lacks Dolby Vision, it can convert HDR content to HDR, resulting in improved dynamic range and enhanced video quality. Additionally, for those who indulge in extended TV viewing sessions, the TV offers an Eye Comfort Mode to prevent eye fatigue. As for audio, it boasts 90W speakers positioned at the back, with the audio output directed from the side. This unique speaker setup, with a speaker grill on the side, adds an interesting element to the TV’s audio performance.

Gaming
I’ll connect the gaming console and give it a go. I’m currently playing Rocket League, which offers a variety of features. For instance, there’s a picture mode, and if you’re playing PUBG, you can have a small map displayed on the side of the screen. The TV also features Game Motion Plus, ensuring smooth and fluid movements during gameplay. Moreover, there are game mode settings and a virtual aim point, providing numerous benefits for gamers. Additionally, the TV offers excellent sound output and overall gaming experience.
The input lag is impressively fast, with just 9ms of lag, making it ideal for 4K gaming. With a frame rate of 120 FPS, HDR support, and VR capabilities, the gaming experience on this large screen is truly unbeatable. I’ve thoroughly covered the TV and its features. Another interesting aspect worth mentioning is the environmentally friendly packaging. It utilizes reusable ink, and as we saw during the launch event, you can repurpose the box for various creative uses.
